demonglass rachel hawkinsI was late to the Hex Hall party. I was interested in this new series for Rachel Hawkins. It seemed like something I'd like. Everyone else certainly seemed to like it. I just was feeling a tad burnt out on YA Fantasy. So I waited and I read it and then wanted to read the second book, Demonglass, right that second. Unfortunately for me the library had a long list of people waiting for it.

When I finally did get it I spent a lovely summer afternoon (um yeah... I read this one more than a month ago) on the deck with Demonglass and when I turned the last page I hopped online to see when the next book was coming out. It doesn't come out until March 2012, which sort of has me wishing I had waited until all the books were out because OMG CLIFFHANGER.

Whenever I read a sequel to a really good first book I'm always a bit wary about it. What if it's not as good? What if it doesn't grasp me the same way? This one did. Like most second books, and as a good second book in a series should, it left me with a lot of questions. What really goes on a Hex Hall? Why does everyone seem to know so much more about Sophie than she does? What happened to Jenna? Is everyone ok? What is the scoop for Sophia's mother? Because there's so totally something going on there. I don't even know where to start with the questions about Cal.  Or Archer.

I am eagerly looking forward to Spell Bound in March, but just one thing... Rachel Hawkins please don't go all Stephenie Meyer on us and make this love triangle book like Eclipse. I really will throw the book across the room if it is and I hate to commit book abuse.
