Instant Gratification

instant gratificationI actually finished Jill Shalvis' Instant Gratification awhile ago. I've been reading her blog for years but it's only in the past year that I started reading her books.* Shalvis writes a good contemporary romance novel.

But...this second installment of Wilder brothers series did not rock my world. I don't know why but I just didn't get into the relationship between Stone and Emma. I liked them well enough individually but together? I wasn't quite feeling it. I hate it when that happens.

I did like the little side romance that was going on for Serena in this one. (I'd kind of like to read a book all about Serena.) I like revisiting the ranch.

I think that part of it might be impatience. I really want to know what the heck went on between Harley and T.J. already. I mean clearly the next book is going to be about them but I sort of wanted this book to be about them too. I won't have to wait too long...Instant Temptation comes out in April. And there's an excerpt from it on Shalvis's site. (I love it when authors put excerpts on their site.)

And in the meantime I have her baseball series to read. Weird but true fact - I generally dislike baseball. I can think of many things I'd rather do than watch a baseball game (unless it's a big group activity or a Stitch and Pitch). But I really like books about baseball. Especially fiction. Go figure.

* Part of the reason I didn't start reading them until this year is that the two previous library systems I belonged to did not stock her. hmph
