The Golden Haiku

I have been been meaning to blog about the Golden Haiku for ages. Some of you may have seen me tweet it a few weeks ago.

The Golden Haiku is the brain child of Melissa Ford, one of my fellow Contributing Editors at BlogHer. I think it's a brilliant idea. (Melissa has many, many good ideas.)
Awards are nice–it’s good to honour someone and mark big accomplishments. But we all have a best post tucked into our archives. We all have words that have moved another person or ideas that have kicked off a series of musings. Bloggers are writers and all of us deserve to be celebrated.

It's just one post. Even if we've been having an up and down year, even if we are a bit burned out, each one of us has at least one good post in our arsenal. I know some people have many good posts.

Where does the haiku part come in? You have to describe your post in 17 words. It's not really a haiku, it's more like a cousin of the haiku. It's a really neat idea.

Go read Melissa's whole post. There's a few details that you need to read closely to make sure you submit your post correctly. Then take a tip-toe through your archives and find a post that you think is good, that you think is you.

Because as Melissa says, we all deserve to be celebrated.
