Chosen is the third book in PC Cast and Kristen Cast's House of Night series. It's been awhile since I read the second one so I went back and read the last few chapters of it before starting this one (good idea I think...).

The story picks up about a month after the end of Betrayed. Zoe is still all messed up about Stevie Ray. Aphrodite and her are still working on a tentative friendship. Zoe is doing a pretty good job at isolating herself from Erik, the twins and Damien. She needs to figure out what to do about Heath. Oh, and there's the poet professor who is making passes at her too so she's really juggling three guys.

Part of the problem with trying to write about this series - anything you say about one book spoils things from an earlier book. Most of what I could tell you would be major spoilertude.

There are lots of things I like about this series - I think the School of Night is pretty cool, I like Zoe (mostly), I like Zoe's friends, I like the tension between certain grounds and persons. But what I don't like is how it feels like each book starts of slowly (with a lot of recap at the beginning of each sequel) and then rush, rush, rush, lots of action and BOOM it's over. It's great when you're reading it but after you kind of sit and think, "That's it?"

Of course I'll still be reading the next one. ;)
