Louis Riel: a comic-strip biography

I heard about Chester Brown's Louis Riel: A Comic-Strip Biography ages ago and wanted to check it ou then promptly forgot about it. A couple of weeks ago I was at the library picking up some books and it was on display so I grabbed it (even though I'm trying to do that less and less these days, have too much to read as it is).

It was a really interesting idea. Brown suggested other readings at the beginning and had a bunch of notes at the end (which I must confess I did not read). The Red River Rebellion is a rather complex bit of history and I think he did a great job of condensing it to a comic strip format.

I wish there were more comic strip biographies. I think they should do a whole line of then. Just a word to parents though, even though it's a comic strip it's not aimed at 7 year olds but I do think it would be great for teens.

Loved his comic book Sir John A. It made me giggle. :)
