Avalon High: Coronation

After re-reading Avalon High I decided I wanted to take the first of the sequels, Coronation 1 The Merlin Prophecy.

First of all, what a devil of a time the salesperson and I had finding this.  I knew there were supposed to be a couple of copies in stock because I checked online before I went. And the graphic novel section was more or less where I suspected it would be.  And to be perfectly honest it wasn't that big a section - about 12 feet long and 4 feet high.  And it took us over 10 minutes to find the blasted thing. For some reason it was listed by 'Cabot' when the rest of the books in the section are listed by title.

I'll be the first to confess that I don't know very much about the whole graphic novel genre. But I did rather like the artwork.

What I found somewhat annoying is that it felt like half the book was spent rehashing the Avalon High novel.  And then just when it started to get interesting and new it stopped with a cliffhanger. Which on one hand is to be expected but on the other was super annoying.

This series does make me wish I had gone through an Arthur phase. I think it's a pretty interesting way of "modernizing" it without ruining the original.
