A bad boy can be good for a girl

a bad boy can be good for a girlWell..they are still bad boys. The good is more along the lines of learning that bad boys are bad and to stay away from them.

Tanya Lee Stone's A Bad Boy Can be Good for a Girl is the story of three girls who all encountered the same bad boy. Someone writes a note in the library copy of the Judy Blume's Forever about the boy. Word gets around and more and more girls add their comments about the same guy. There were a lot of them. He really was a bad boy.

It's got teenage angst. But not too much. Just the right amount of angst from three different perspectives. Enough to make you remember what it was like to be a teen and not so much that it makes you roll your eyes. And can I just say that some of these girls were a hell of a lot more ballsy than I ever was in high school?

Oh, did I mention it's completely written in verse? Very neat.

I liked it. I'd recommend it.

Maybe you should pick up a copy of it and read it during banned book week. To my knowledge it hasn't been challenged yet but I figure it's only a matter of time.
