I just can't do it

I picked up Poppy Shakespeare from the library a few days ago. It seemed like it might be kind of interesting - you know in an off-kilter more humerous than One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest type of way.

But I simply can't do it. I read the first chapter while I was waiting for something to process on my computer (the first chapter is only 1.5 pages). There are a lot of "it weren't" and "I weren't" and "I been", etc. My brain cannot take 341 pages of that. I could listen to it on audio maybe...I know I could watch a movie with lots of dialect. But my brain just revolts when an entire book is written in the first person with dialect. Conversations it can handle but not all the descriptions as well.

Oh well, one knocked off of Mount TBR.
