New Moon

new moonAfter a not so wonderful day Friday I let myself take the plunge into New Moon yesterday. And I've come to the conclusion that it's darned hard to talk about this book without possibly giving stuff away. I'll do my best not to give away any major spoilers.

There are basically three parts to this book. The first being the time around Bella's birthday. The others will be described as middle and end because to tell you what they are about is to give you spoilers. The bulk of the book actually falls into the middle. Stephanie Meyer said that when she was giving people the book for advance reading she asked them to read it twice because people rushed through the middle to get something that happens in the end of the book. I actually didn't have that problem. I had a pretty good idea what happened at the end. Well...I knew that something was going to happen so it allowed me and since I knew that I took my time through the middle part. But when I got to the last 200 pages I rushed through them and actually ended going back and rereading them.

I liked this but I didn't like it as much as Twilight. Edward and Bella still captivate me though. And I think there's a lot more to Bella than we've seen. Bella did seem to grow in the book. Still Edward-obssessed of course but I felt like she got a bit more personality in this one.

After I finished I went to Stephanie Meyer's website and read a bit about New Moon. I also read a bit about the next book, Eclipse. Apparently there are not going to be any advanced reader's copies for Eclipse. This makes me think that something *big* happens...
