Christmas stack #1

My parents (separately, my parents are not together) give me money for christmas. I'm to spend it on whatever I want. My mother wants me to spend it on useful things, my father doesn't care (actually he doesn't ask which I take to mean he doesn't care).

I wanted books. I headed to an Indigo Books store that I like (Yonge and Eglinton for those of you in the GTA) and decided to buy pretty much WHATEVER I WANTED. It was soooooooooooo much fun.

That is what I left with (another picture coming). In addition to my Christmas monies I also $90. I didn't spend all my christmas monies. Yay!

The books in the order that they are stacked:

  • Age of Innocence by Edith Warton (for the A-Z challenge)

  • A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L'Engle (which I wanted to read after seeing it was an Our Coffee Rings selection)

  • Carlyle's House and other Sketches by Virginia Woolf (I've never read Woolf but I love Hesperus Press books and this is apparently the first time this collection has been published according to the band around the book)

  • Persuasion by Jane Austen (read it for the first time this summer and decided I needed to own it - and I love Penguin editions)

  • Inkheart & Inkspell by Cornelia Funke (I've been wanting to read these for awhile, part of my A-Z challenge)

  • Shake Hands with the Devil: the failure of humanity in Rwanda - General Romeo Dallaire (I've been wanting this for quite awhile)

A few days later I was walking by another bookstore and broke down and bought a few more books. That will be bookstack #2. Coming soon!
