One Book Meme

Sarah tagged me with the One Book Meme. I did it a few months ago but hey, I can do it again. Because as we all know there is no such thing as *one* book. Right? Exactly!

1) One book that changed your life: I begged off this question last time and didn't really answer it. I still can't think of one book that changed my life. That doesn't mean that books don't have an impact on me because they do but I don't think I've found a life changing book yet. Then again...I suppose I could cite the text we used in my technical writing class because that class showed me that I *was* able to do it and prompted me to quit my job (which I had started to really hate), move to a new city and start looking for a new job (which I found). In that case, Technical Communication by Mark Markel was the book.

2) One book that you’ve read more than once: Since it's come up a few times lately, Rilla of Ingleside by L.M. Montgomery. I *wanted* to read it this weekend but I still can't find my copy. HMPH!!!!

3) One book you’d want on a deserted island: Something that doesn't have lavish descriptions of food.
4) One book that made you laugh: Excluding my answers from last time, Katie McAlister's contemporary romance novels usually end up making me laugh. Yeah, they are trashy romance novels but her main characters are *funny* and sassy and there's something very real about them that makes them all the funnier. (I haven't read any of her vampire romance novels but I'm assuming they would be the same.)

5) One book that made you cry: I'm a sap so a lot of things make me cry. Harry Potter books make me cry! (Well...at least books 5 and 6). But I guess the most recent was The Love Season by Elin Hilderbrand.

6) One book you wish you’d written: Well...last time I said the Harry Potter books because the thought of all those kids reading makes me excited. But I wouldn't mind being the person that wrote the Dexter books. I love Dexter. (And shut up, I don't get the TV show and the stupid showcase website won't let me in, HMPH!)

7) One book you wish had never been written: I really wish I hadn't read the Moonstone but I know a lot of people like it, or even love it, (why people??? why?????) so I won't wish it out of existence. I just wish I didn't know about it.

8) One book you’re currently reading: Umm can I tell you a secret? At this exact second I'm not reading A SINGLE THING. I've been headachey the last couple of days. And tired. Really tired (please don't let me be getting sick again/still sick). But I do have Meg Cabot's Avalon High sitting beside me and I'll probably go make some tea and curl up with it shortly. Meg is always very good at getting me out of a rut (ok...maybe I didn't love How to be Popular...but I still stand by her de-rutting powers). And if I'm still in the YA frame of mind when I'm done I have Hit the Road by Caroline B Cooney to read as a follow up.

9) One book you’ve been meaning to read: I have an excel spreadsheet. But I guess I'll just go with Jane Eyre for this one.

10) Tag people: I know a bunch of you have done it already. If anyone hasn't done it please do. And those you that have, please leave a link in the comments. Sarah said she wanted to find more good books to read and I know you guys can deliver.
