Well since you asked...

Kailana just asked what were the 12 books that I took out from the library today. Actually in total I have 22 books out. And if I'm going to list 12 I might as well list 22 right?

In no particular order except that this is how they appear in my library list:

  • Chasing Shakespeares: a novel - Sarah Smith (This was on display and looked interesting.)

  • Before I Say Goodbye: recollections and observations from one woman's final year - Ruth Picardie (I'm reading a lot of books about breast cancer this month, so you'll notice a *whole* lot of them on this list.)

  • Both Sides Now - Ruth Pennebaker (YA novel about a girl whose mother has breast cancer.)

  • The Cancer Journals - Audre Lorde

  • The Chocolate War: a novel - Robert Cormier (I am sure I've read this before but I can't remember it at all.)

  • Cooking Light Annual Recipes 2006 - (I like their recipes.)

  • The Cross-country Quilters: an Elm Creek Quilts novel - Jennfier Chiaverini (In case I need a break from breast cancer and need something a bit comforting.)

  • Dear Stranger, Dearest Friend - Laney Katz Becker (An epistolary novel (you know I like those) about a women with breast cancer, suggested by Lesley.)

  • Defining Dulcie - Paul Acompora (I read about it on Bookshelves of Doom and have been (im)patiently waiting for it for ages.)

  • The Dream Where Losers Go- Beth Goobie (YA, no clue how I found it.)

  • Gee's Bend: the women and their quilts - (I heard about this on CBC Radio but had not idea it was a HUGE HONKING book. It's seriously HUGE and I'm not merely talking about the thickness. It's almost the size of a tabletop.)

  • I'm too young to have breast cancer - Beth Leibson-Hawkins

  • Ice bound: a doctor's incredible battle for survival at the South Pole- Jerri Nielsen (I've been interested in this for awhile even though I've read mixed reviews of it.)

  • James Tiptree, Jr : the double life of Alice B. Sheldon - Julie Phillips (I heard something about this ummm somewhere...)

  • Life in the Balance: my journey with breast cancer -Marla Shapiro (Dr. Marla! Started this and it's actually pretty good.)

  • The Money Book for the Young, Fabulous, and Broke - Suze Orman (I read a personal finance book every few months.)

  • My one-night stand with cancer - Tania Katan (I loved the title.)

  • The Nasty Bits: collected varietal cuts, usable trim, scraps, and bones - Anthony Bourdain (I like his food books, haven't tried his detective novels though.)

  • No less a woman - Deborah Hobler Kahane

  • Pug Hill - Alison Pace

  • Soups and Stews Cookbook - By ummm someone. My library list doesn't tell me and I'm too lazy to go look.

  • Tell Me What to Eat to Prevent Breast Cancer - Elaine Magee (The Recipe Doctor! Go read her blog.)

That's 22 right? I'm too lazy to count.
