Enough is enough

I've been working at home for more than a year now with very poor furniture. Furniture that was fine when I was in university and beyond but now that I'm there all day it's just not working.  So I ordered a bunch of stuff from Ikea. A whole bunch of cheap stuff but still a bunch of stuff.

Now of course I need to figure out how to get rid of my existing desk (which lasted me nicely for about 7 or 8 years and survived many moves). It's surprisingly hard to get rid of furniture in the city when you don't live in a large building or near students. And not living in a large building I'm not to keen on doing the freecycle thing cause I don't like giving out my address. It's hard to find charities that will come out and pick up a desk (and possibly a few chairs if my friends have decided they don't want them). Most of them tell you they will come out to pick up things up at least a month after you want them too.  If I break down the desk (which is possible, it required assembly), I might be able to get the garbage people to take it away. It says on the website they will...although it seems that they rarely do. I'll have to wait and see. I'm not sure how long it will take Ikea to deliver either.

Times like this I kinda wish I had a car. But it's totally not worth it to rent one for this either.

Anyway - what did I buy? Three work tables.  I know that sounds like a lot but I'm going to put them in a c-shape and I'm thinking that when needed one of them could double as a dining table. Of course if anyone comes over they might have to bring over their own chair but that's beside the point.  Two rolling storage carts that *should* fit under the work tables (if not there may be much swearing  - oh wait, I'll be assembling ikea stuff, swearing is a given anyway). And I bought a bookcase. Cause I really need a bookcase seeing as I can't seem to stop buying books.

Hopefully at the end of all of this I'll have room for everything as well as a reading space. A work reading space that it - I need place to spread papers and make notes and stuff. But most of all I'm hoping that I'll be able to FIND things because I cannot find things right now and it is driving me INSANE.
