2005 in review

After university I didn't have access to a library and my bank account couldn't quite afford to keep up with how fast I read. But about 1.5 years ago I joined the Westmount Library in Montreal. Then I moved to Toronto. My first apartment was rather isolated - there was nothing close by at all. No grocery store, I was off the subway line, etc but by some freak chance there was a branch of the Toronto Public Library almost right across the street from me. I was unemployed. It saved my sanity. Then when I moved out of that apartment from hell, my new apartment also happened to be only two blocks away from a library. Of course, now that I'm working I don't have as much time to read but I still read plenty (even if I don't always blog about the books - bad monkey!).

So here's my 2005 reading round-up. These are not exhaustive lists by any stretch of the imagination - I'm sure that I've forgotten a dozen books that I liked/hated.

Darkly Dreaming Dexter and Dearly Devoted Dexter – Jeff Lindsay
