Ohhh purty!

I was sitting in bed reading yesterday evening. It was sometime after 8 I think (or maybe just before???). I looked out my window and was struck but how dark blue the sky was. It was a dark brooding blue but a bright dark blue. Almost indigo. The building next door, which is a twin to mine, is white and it was glowing. Sun was obviously shining on it. It was a very striking contrast. Not one that you see often. At first the sky looked solid but if you stared long enough you could make out clouds. There were a purple-grey. I went out on the the balcony to see if I could see where the sun was breaking through but it I couldn't. I lingered out there for a moment. Then I came back into my room and looked out at the sky and there it was - a rainbow! I was so taken by surprise that I just stood there staring at it with a goofy grin on my face.

Something about rainbows reminds me of being a kid. Even though I know the science about why they appear there is still something magical about them. And I think it will always be magic.

I don't remember the last time I saw a rainbow. And this was definately my first Toronto rainbow. :)
