Sweet and sour meatballs

I made these last week. Sooooo yummy. We often have them around Christmas time at home. One of my nephews especially likes them. I think he'd be happy if that was all that my mother made for Christmas dinner. lol Anyway, the other night I had a pound of lean ground beef in the fridge and didn't know what to do with it. I suddenly decided I wanted these. A quick trip to the corner store (which I soooooooooo still want to call a dep but then no one who reads this other than Ilan and Cat would know what the heck I was talking about) for vinegar and I was ready to go. Technically you can serve them over rice but that's just extra work. They are tasty just on their own.

Sweet and sour meatballs
1-1/2 lb. lean ground beef
1 lg. egg
1/2 cup fine bread crumbs

Sweet 'N Sour Sauce:
1 cup ketchup
3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/4 cup vinegar
2 tbsp. cornstarch (I skipped the cornstarch, I find is generally unnecessary)
1/4 cup lukewarm water

Mix ground beef together with egg and breadcrumbs. Roll into balls (about 1-inch) and place in roaster. Set aside.

On stovetop, heat in pot ketchup, brown sugar and vinegar. Bring to boil, stirring constantly. In a cup, dissolve cornstarch in lukewarm water. Add to sauce and stir until sauce is thickened. Pour sauce over meatballs.Bake at 350°F for approximately 1-1/2 hours, until it bubbles thoughout.
